In early June 1122 the city of Utrecht received its city rights from emperor Henry V; the official birth of the city. To celebrate this birthday Foundation HEI shall organise a medieval market on Sunday afternoon 1 June in the Korte Minrebroederstraat, next to the city hall. Apart from the many craftsmen who will be demonstrating their trades and skills, also other medieval scenes will come back to live.

There will be a early medieval street theater performance, a knights school for children by 13th century soldiers, a bailiff and his guards keep order, a surgeon takes care of a patient, musicians play their music, a jester and magician show their arts, two local knights will fight a 15th century judicial duel in full armour and two Burgundian knights will fight a courtly combat on foot which might be lethal nonetheless.
